I need to stop a backfilling analysis and I don't know how?
Should I delete the event frame?
Hi Díaz de Cerio María Ángeles,
You can stop backfilling analyses (recommended only in cases when it is necessary to do):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
If you want to delete specific backfilling then find that element and delete its operation. Do this opeation under observation if you are just starting with xml syntaxes and AF.
After these, start your AF Analyses service.
Cancelling backfilling operations individually can be done by right-clicking the analysis from the Analysis Tab on the Element. Selecting "Backfill/Recalculate Status". Check the backfill request/operation and click the "Cancel Checked Requests"
Took me a while to notice this seemingly obvious ability since I don't typically go to this status window since you can see the backfilling status by simply hovering the mouse pointer of the backfill progress bar.
I agree - it is not in a very obvious place. I think we should be able to stop backfilling from the management tab.
We have this enhancement on our feedback website:
Stop backfilling / recalculation of analyses – User Feedback for OSIsoft Products and Services
What if it is stuck at 0% backfilling but when you right click the "Backfill/Recalculate Status" is grayed out?
Perhaps the backfill request is queued behind other ones? If you go to the management tab, do you see any pending operations? If you have more than 1 AF Database, you'd have to check each.
Alternatively, you can look at the recalculation log. You can access it by right clicking under operations:
I had one stuck at 0% and I wanted to see if another would get stuck so now I have two analyses that are queued and stuck at 0%. When I look the management tab, though, there are 4 stuck:
I think there are two duplicates? I only tried to backfill two of my analyses.
Additionally, the "Open Recalculation Log" option is also grayed out.
Can you try opening the recalculation log using PSE directly on the server running Asset Analytics?
Which version are you running? You can find the version from control panel > programs and features.
I'm not sure what the problem was but I restarted my computer and the issues went away. If this happens again I will try your latest suggestion.
Thanks for your help!
