I'm having the following issue on PSE Analyses, and my analyses are not working.
Do make sure that on the machine with PI Analysis Service installed, that the appropriate AF server and PI Data Archive have been defined correctly. I have seen this issue before on other sites and the problem was because they were not defined correctly.
If they are defined correctly, then check that the network connections between the machine with PI Analysis Service and the servers (if they are not installed on the same machine) are healthy.
It seems it wasn't defined correctly somehow, but now it's working fine.
I would recommend opening a support ticket with Tech Support to troubleshoot this a little further. Without any further details, I would say that it's possible you are encountering known issue 170310. Prior to restarting PI Network Manager on the Analysis Service node, I would recommend at least taking a hang dump of it so that Tech Support can analyze it and confirm that you are encountering this known issue.
I'm having a problem that appears similar to this. I believe the Data Archive is defined properly. I can connect to it and get data from it. It is when I run an analysis, I get the same issue described above. I disabled the firewall as a test and it made no difference.
The Pi Data Archive is on a different server than Pi AF. I checked the trusts and mappings and I believe everything is there for both the server and user. What I do wonder about, is that I changed both servers over to a domain recently.
What version is the PINS/PI Network Manager installed on your PI Analysis machine? You can check this by looking at the executable details for pinetmgr.exe, typically installed at %pihome64%\bin on a non PI Data Archive node. If the version is < 3.4.420, you may be running into known issue 170310. If this is the case, take a hang dump of pinetmgr.exe while it is still running, then restart PI Network Manager in the services applet and see if the error is resolved. If this does not resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting our Tech Support to troubleshoot further.
