How should I proceed following backup failure?

Hello All. I have a newish (development) W2K12R2 PI Data Archive that I am attempting to configure backups for. During my first attempt, from an elevated command line, I issued the command piartool -backup "I:\pibackups" -arcdir -wait.

The backup failed with the -16919 error. In researching this, I found a previous posting here https://pisquare.osisoft.com/message/58260#comment-58260?q=-16919 stating I need a patch, KB2919355, which was already installed. The posting also referenced me to a Microsoft hotfix, which I just installed.

My question is, how should I proceed in a manner that will prevent data loss? Should I delete the folder I:\pibackups and try the command line again, or just install the scheduled task as prescribed? Currently this folder contains 78 files, 11 folders, and 1.78 mb of data (small I know). I think the scheduled task deletes these files anyway.

Thanks,

Vint
