Anyone know if a Multi-state display can be used in a Asset Comparison table? If not, this capability would really be nice.
Thanks for posting on PI Square. What would you like the Asset Comparison table do? Is it to have it highlight assets with attribute values satisfying a certain criteria?
Be able to pick a column and have the values display various colors based on a set of criteria and/or the limit set in AF.
Let's make sure I know the functionality that your after. I have an example Asset Comparison Table
When I select a column such as Density, I want the table to function like a multistate symbol: Highlighting the Elements depending on a multistate condition such as;
If the Density is less than 50 I want to highlight the elements red.
If the density is between 50 an 500 then highlight the elements as yellow.
Is that correct? Do you want the functionality to be dynamic as well? Meaning that currently I have Density selected; I click on a new column (Say Melting Point), I want the table to change the colors based on the new column?
You are correct. While I am still learning/trying Vision 2017, I am doing some comparisons of functionality. Collections are fantastic, but look at the formatting differences. The automatic column header for the Asset Comparison and easy column width alignment. Each has their purpose, but adding Multi-State to a column.......WOW
I agree. There sounds like there are 2 possible enhancement requests here.
1) Give more formatting options for Collections
2) Allow Tables and Table Columns to have multistate behavior.
Would you agree?
The latter of the two has a uservoice entry created already: Multistate behavior in table object – Customer Feedback for OSIsoft & the PI System
Feel free to upvote/comment on that one.
