How can I run through an AF attribute typed as Array(Double) with AF Analysis?
Hi Maxime - For the upcoming PI Server 2018 release, we will in fact support reading from attributes configured as array types. We will however not support writing to attributes with array types. If writing is something you are interested in, please let us know your use case.
For example, in the following, I configured two AF attributes with type Double Array - one with no data reference and other as a PI Point Array data reference.
As shown in the analysis below, we will support reading from both attributes. Once the value in read in a variable, all array operations will work as expected.
Hope this helps.
Asset Analytics currently doesn't support array data type.
There may be a way to get your calculation working in Asset Analytics if an array is not needed. Can you give us more details on what you are trying to do?
Arrays will be supported in the upcoming release: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Products/Product-Roadmap/PI-AF
Though it doesn't appear that the array type in an Attribute is supported in the upcoming release - what I've seen so far is that the array is an in-memory structure supported by new Analysis functions. But I haven't seen where you can read an input Attribute that is configured with an array Type.
Thank you Sebastien!
So, I guess the next version will allow that.
While the next version of Asset Analytics will support arrays in expressions, it will not support AFAttribute typed as any type of array.
CORRECTION: I have been told that PI Server 2018 should support reading of arrays for AFAttributes.
Thanks for correcting us Nitin !
is this functionality available yet? if not, when will it be released?
It is available in the 2018 version that was released this summer.
