Data Quality Check in OSI PI & GE Proficy Historian

    Osama Javed

While retrieving data from OSI PI Historian or GE Proficy Historian, is there is any option of selecting the Output Flag as 1/0 in order to have a check on data quality or health.

For e.g., if turbine MWs are being retrieved from DCS and at that moment they are bad MW values...how does PI or GE Proficy determine if the data health is not good and gives any indication or raises any flag.

If so, what's the logic behind this data quality tool/logic running in there.

I just wanted to understand more about the data quality checks which are available in either of these Historians (OSI PI or Proficy) to evaluate the health of data coming from MkVI/DCS.

How does these historians determine if the data quality is good or bad?

It's typically not up to the historian to determine the data quality of the data being sent to it. There can be some logic baked into the interface that is in charge of sending the data to PI but it depends on what interface we are talking about and how the data source itself is marking the health of the data in question. Do you know if the data is being sent via an OPC data source or something else? It also appears you triple-posted this question so I have gone ahead and cleaned up the extraneous threads.
