Creating PI Points via PI System Explorer is easy, perhaps too easy.
Please check if your pointsource and Location1 (InterfaceID) are set correctly when you set your Point Attributes.
For mass edits or creation, PI Builder excel addin is usually my go-to tool.
I am just following the course videos and activities.
One of them is creating PI Points via PI System Explorer.
I already check the pointsource and Location1 and both are set correctly.
The not usual issue is that I used the same attribute template for 12 PI points and only 2 of them are updating.
Could you provide more details on how you set the attribute template? (i.e. screenshots or tables?)
What are the differences between the ones that are working and ones aren't?
Pt Created usually means that it's not registered to the right interface instance or registered but not yet time to get a scan.
I would request you to follow below steps
1) Export all PI Points in AF attributes
2) Extract PI Point configuration using PI Builder
3) Check below headers
- Location 1 ( Should match with interface ID)
- Location 4 ( should match scan class)
- Location 3 ( set if you are using advise)
- InstrumentTag should match itemID without spaces as defined.
- Point Source ( Should match with interface)
“Pt Created” will be updated once interface picks up the point and looks like above parameters are not set or matching the inteface. You can also run PI OPC DA interface interactively to understand the points loaded or ignore by interface.
I just solved the problem.
I figured out that the PI Interface identity was not indicated for the PI Points. I had to add the PIInterface_PIBufss manually for all PI Points.
I don't know the origin of the problem, but it is working properly now.
If you are creating PI Points from the PI System Explorer, you have to set the required PI Point attributes like ptsecurity, datasecurity in the attribute template. That will be used while the PI Points were being created. Fore more information on this, you can check the below video,
The issue I could assume is, the Interface doesn't have the proper rights to write the data for the PI Points.
Hope this will give you some information.
Have a nice day!
Can you verify the instrument tag for the ptcreated tags?
Hope the OPC server is licensed to allow the clients to read it.
