PI ICU Configuration.
When i press the service tab this error pops up.
Can someone help me since i can't seem to fix the configuration on the buffering tab.
Please follow below steps:
1) Login to the server and launch windows services. Right click on PI-Buffer Server service and stop the service. Once stopped change the startup type to "Disabled"
2) Check PI Buffer subsystem status. Service Status = "Started" and Startup type : Automatic (Service will start automatically after server restarts)
3) Click Start --> Run and type %pihome% and navigate to dat folder to check piclient.ini(buffer configuration)
Sample piclient.ini (configuration)
Additional reference : PI Server
PI Collective :
AUTOCONFIG=1 ( With AUTOCONFIG parameter enabled (default setting) i.e AUTOCONFIG=1, you must specify the server listed in the interface's /HOST parameter under BUFFEREDSERVERLIST:)
AUTOCONFIG=0 (With AUTOCONFIG parameter disabled i.e. AUTOCONFIG=0 , specify each server in the collective that you want to buffer data to under BUFFEREDSERVERLIST:)
4) In ICU, General (tab) --> Select API Hostname (i.e. BUFSERV1).
Note : If you are using collective with two members with interface failover (uniint failover) then request you to configure API host name of primary interface to primary PI server and secondary interface to secondary PI server.
Hope this helps.
Looks like two windows services are running on your machine - PI Buffering subsystem and PI Buffer Server. I would request you to turn off PI Buffer server. Before turning of the windows service or disabling I would request you to check below kb article to know the difference. If you have added any dependencies in service tab I would suggest you to remove PI Buffer server.
KB00042 - What is the difference between API Buffer Server (Bufserv) and the PI Buffer Subsystem (PIbufss)
I can confirm Lal's response.
Especially if your PI Buffer Subsystem version is above 4.3, there should no drawback compared to Buffer Server, and you can safely stop PI Buffer Server.
Please make sure the PI Buffer Subsystem is correctly configured to buffer your data, before stopping Buffer Server.
Therefore take a look at this source:

Good Day Sir/Ma'am!
I forgot to mention that disabling pi buffering subsystem will remove the error but stop sending data.
How to disable or remove buffer server though any walkthrough please? Sorry, I am a dumb person.
Thanks and regards.
Thank you for the instructions sir!
