How can we visualyze annotation of a PI Point or Event Comment in PI Vision?
Is it possible to link this type of information to the Reason of the event or Iclude it in the naming pattern?
You can view Event Frame comments/annotations in the Event Details page.
I am not aware of any way to view PI Point annotations in PI Vision though.
The reason of an Event Frame has to be an Enumeration Set if I am not mistaken while a comment is a string of text. Therefore, linking the two is difficult since their data types do not match. There are infinite ways to compose a string while an Enumeration Set is limited to a finite number of options.
Thank you for your replay.
We are generating event to hilight trails ou recepie changes.
I would like end users to easly get indication of what was tested during this trail.
Process optimisation is always different and I would like to avoid making new event analyses for each trail.
The end users trigger event with an on/off pi point that generate the time range of trail. This alowe them to compare any attributes and PI points.
In a perfect world, they would be able to qwickly know witch time range is link with the recepie change they are locking for.
I was loocking to this type of vision object:
If you have any suggestions that would alowed me to visualize annotation/event comments/attribute next to the event it would be very helpfull.
You first have to configure the event frame template to "can be acknowledged."
You then must configure the reason codes in an enumeration set.
Then, in the EF template, you have to configure the Reason, so click on the reason hyperlink and put in the correct enumeration set in the value type:
Then, you will have the ability to acknowledge and put in reason codes:
To add or see comments, you can double-click on rows in the above table and get to the event details screen and put in any free-form comments.
You can use PI OLEDB enterprise to query the correct tables to get the reason codes, acknowledgements, comments, and who did each and when in to a common place. Unfortunately, you can't tie all of this together in PI Vision. I hope the comments field gets added to the events table.
