Do there exist some kind of overview on which versions of PI JDBC Driver is compatible with which version of Java (Java 8, Java 11 etc)?

I wouldn't know such an overview exists. We always recommend to use the latest software releases and the system requirements are listed in the product documentation. There's an additional strong reason to prefer PI JDBC Driver 2018. It is a pure, JDBC driver and as such it is platform agnostic. Earlier versions depend on a COM-wrapper library which is only available for Windows and very specific Linux distributions.
PI JDBC Driver 2018 Administrator Guide lists JRE 8, 9 or 10 within the "System requirements" section. These are the JAVA versions used with the product tests but, based on my experience, I can tell that JAVA 11 (11.0.2) works too.
