Hello, I'm working on a project that requires read only access to PI tags from Ignition Scada system. How do we do this? PI version is 3.4.420
Ignition SCADA has an OPC UA server, so your best bet would be to use an OPC UA connector.
Their OPC UA module comes out of the box, and from my experience, their version 8.x+ is one of the better OPC UA Server out there, so I would definitely go with the PI Connector for OPC UA option.
Normally, OSI interfaces require PI Buffer Subsystem service to be installed to mirror data to the backup HA server.
In order to send to a HA collective pair, would OPC UA from Igntion require installation of PI Buffer Subsystem?
The PI Connector for OPC UA 2.X utilizes the PI Connector Relay to write data to the PI DA and PI AF server. The relay is collective aware and has buffering built-in, so you will be able to configure it to send data to a collective. -
