Is there any way of exporting data from processbook to excel without usibg datalink?
There is a Word Document Utility that uses a PI ProcessBook VBA script to extract information from an open ProcessBook Workbook (.PIW) file and export it into Excel. The report lists all objects contained in each display, including its symbol name, symbol type, coordinates, and tag names.
This utility is listed as a DevNet Application available on the OSIsoft Download Center.
If it doesn't show up in the download center for you, give OSIsoft Technical Support a shout and they should be able to help you gain access to it.
There is an export to CSV file feature available in PI ProcessBook 3.2 and later.
Here is a short video demonstrating how it works:
Perhaps you just need to try it out (or upgrade first) to see if it is what you want?
+1 for this.
Preferable a VBA solution in Processbook, where you can choose display to show in excel including Tag name and Descriptor.
Hi Nis Hansen,
Sorry could you clarify your request. A VBA solution to pull data from PI ProcessBook to Excel is described in AMuraski's post. Would this not provide your desired functionality?
I tried to find it - but no success - now I have contacted support and hopefully I get access.
I hope this will help me make a button beside every trend and export the data to excel.
Is it possible to add this guide to this forum - When i contect support they say I need access to Vcampus.
Would really appreciate if any could make it downloadable here :)
Hey Nis Hansen! I am not able to post it here, however I followed up with the Support Engineer who was looking into it for you. If you will follow up with him regarding your site information he will be able to give you access to the download!
Just some added information regarding DevNet content and vCampus. DevNet content included in the vCampus Library. vCampus content is exclusive to the OSIsoft vCampus community because of different licensing considerations. It is sometimes possible for Technical Support to grant access to the DevNet content. However, just so that you know, DevNet Applications and Content are of a supplemental nature and are not supported by OSIsoft.
Have a great day!
